By now, you’ve probably heard about the Australia-wide restrictions on house auctions and home opens in an effort to minimise the spread of Coronavirus. So what does this mean if you’re currently looking to rent or buy a property in Sydney? Well, the good news is that we’ve been taking extra steps to ensure you can inspect properties in a way that’s safe for you, for residents, for property owners and our staff.
First of all, all listings include clear photos to give you a clear idea of each property. Many of our listings include a video walk-through so you can get a true sense of each space without leaving the comfort of your couch, whether you’re buying or renting.
Can I inspect properties during these strange times?
Absolutely. If there’s a property you’d like to see in person you can simply click Book an Inspection on the listing and select a time to suit. Each inspection is a one-on-one appointment, and the agent who greets you will do so from a friendly distance! We’ll ensure that things like doors and pantries are opened beforehand so you can see everything you’d like to without the need to touch any surfaces. We’re providing more time during each inspection to ensure you’ll have all the time you need to ask questions and look around. We’re also leaving time in between inspections to disinfect surfaces for everyone’s safety.
What if I can’t inspect in person?
We can completely understand that many people can’t make it out of the house at the moment – either because of social distancing or perhaps because you have a house full of kids. That’s why we can provide inspections over video call if this suits you best. Simply get in touch with our team and we’ll be happy to set up a suitable time for a virtual walkthrough.
How does the buying process work at the moment?
While the restrictions mean no more live auctions for the time being, that doesn’t mean an end to auctions full stop – the first week of restrictions saw 110 virtual auctions taking place for Sydney properties. Another 305 properties were changed from live auction to private treaty sales, which allow buyers to make an offer to the vendor through the agent. This option is now in place for the incredible Pitt Street apartment we currently have listed, with more properties sure to follow suit. If you have a property in mind, we’re on hand to answer any questions you might have.
Rest assured at Wills Property we’re fully equipped and committed to make the buying or renting process a safe and enjoyable one for you, as well as continuing to provide reliable service for residents and tenants. Get in touch with any questions, keep looking for that dream home – oh, and remember to wash your hands!
